Malvi language

Malvi or Malwi (माळवी भाषा), is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Malwa region of India. It is closely related to Rajasthani.

Not to be confused with the Malwai dialect of Punjabi.

The dialects of Malvi are:-

1:- Ujjaini in Ujjain, Dhar, Indore, Dewas, Shajapur, Sehore districts.

2:- Rajawadi in Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch districts.

3:-Umathwadi in Rajgarh district and nearby regions.

4:-Sondhwadi in Jhalawar and nearby regions.

5:-Bhoyari in Betul, Chhindwara, Wardha districts of central India by the Kshatriya Pawar/Bhoyar community.

Ujjaini is the most prestige dialect[2]

About 75% of the Malvi population can converse in Hindi, which is the official language of the Madhya Pradesh state, and literacy rate in a second language such as Hindi is about 40%. There are many unpublished materials in this language.
