Etymology

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀲𑀼𑀡𑁂𑀤𑀺 (suṇedi), from Sanskrit शृणोति (śṛṇoti). Cognate with Hindi सुनना (sunnā) and Assamese শুনা (xuna).
