Etymology
    
From an unattested masculine byform of Byzantine Greek ταρχόν (tarkhón) from Arabic طَرْخُون (ṭarḵūn, “tarragon”), note also for this Serbo-Croatian trkos. Doublet of тарху́н (tarhún, “tarragon”) that has come from Arabic over Turkish to Bulgarian.
