цӕу
Ossetian

    Etymology

According to Densusianu, from Proto-Scythian *capi (compare Persian چپش (čapeš, “yearling kid”)), whence also Albanian cjap, Romanian țap. But in Abaev's opinion the p → Ossetian w sound change is problematic.
