Etymology

Possibly derived from the Oirat form of Mongolian ᠦᠯᠡᠮᠵᠢ (ülemǰi, “great”), which is short for ᠦᠯᠡᠮᠵᠢ ᠶᠢᠨ
ᠰᠠᠶ᠋ᠢᠬᠠᠨ
ᠪᠡᠯᠴᠢᠭᠡᠷ (ülemǰi-yin say᠋iqan belčiger, “great pasture”).
