  1. (transitive) to fling down, to throw on the ground
    • 5th century, Bible, Luke 4.35:
      Սաստեաց ի նա Յիսուս եւ ասէ․ Պապանձեաց եւ ել ի դմանէ։ Զգետնեաց զնա դեւն ի միջի անդ, եւ ել ի նմանէ, եւ ոչինչ վնասեաց նմա։
      Sasteacʿ i na Yisus ew asē; Papanjeacʿ ew el i dmanē. Zgetneacʿ zna dewn i miǰi and, ew el i nmanē, ew očʿinčʿ vnaseacʿ nma.
      And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
