Etymology
From Proto-Armenian *(h)imp-, from Proto-Indo-European *pimbeti reflecting the reduplicated present *píph₃eti with analogical nasal infix of the root *peh₃-. Alternatively from Proto-Armenian *en-(h)ipe-, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁en-*píbeti from the same root *peh₃-.[1] The verb is suppletive: part of the conjugation is filled by forms of *արբանեմ (*arbanem, “to drink”), from the root արբ- (arb-).

- There is an animal called autholops, an exceedingly fierce animal; until the hunters are unable to catch it. It has long horns in the shape of a saw, so that it is able to saw very large and high trees. And when it is thirsty, it goes to the river Aracani and drinks water.
