Usage notes

The grammatical person is determined by the suffix: ինքզինք (inkʿzinkʿ) and ինքզինքը (inkʿzinkʿə, himself, herself) are used for the third person, ինքզինքդ (inkʿzinkʿd, yourself) is used for the second person, and ինքզինքս (inkʿzinkʿs, myself) is used for the first person. The third, second and first person plural forms are ինքզինքնին (inkʿzinkʿnin, themselves), ինքզինքնիդ (inkʿzinkʿnid, yourselves) and ինքզինքնիս (inkʿzinkʿnis, ourselves), respectively.

This reflexive pronoun is supposed to be used only in the accusative case (hence the presence of the Old Armenian accusative prefix զ-). Other case forms such as dative/genitive ինքզինքիս (inkʿzinkʿis) and ablative ինքզինքէս (inkʿzinkʿēs) are proscribed but can be found in written Western Armenian.
