Transliteration of Ancient Greek ἰχνεύμων (ikhneúmōn). Attested only in the Physiologus, translating that Greek word.

      Ē erē inčʿ, or kočʿi inkʿnimon (var. ikʿnimon), or tʿargmani hetahan; tʿšnami ē višapi, tʿēpēt ew sastik icʿē višaps.

        There is an animal called ichneumon which is translated "tracer." It is the enemy of the dragon, although the dragon is fierce.
