Verb

اِنْطَلَى (inṭalā) VII, non-past يَنْطَلِي‎ (yanṭalī)

  1. to be painted
    اِنْطَلَى الْجِدَارُ بِٱللَّوْنِ الْأَبْيَضِ
    inṭalā l-jidāru bi-l-lawni l-ʾabyaḍi
    The wall has been painted in white colour.
  2. to be sufficient to fool someone, to make someone fall for [+ عَلَى (object)]
    اِنْطَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْحِيلَة
    inṭalat ʿalayhi l-ḥīla
    He fell for it.
