  1. to be ablaze, to be ignited, to burn, to be in flames
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 92:14:
      ‏فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ‎
      faʾanḏartukum nāran talaẓẓā
      Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire
