Etymology

From Persian تازه‎ (tâze) or its Middle Persian ancestor. The variant طازَه‎ (ṭāzah) shows the modern Persian development. The form ṭāzaj shows an older, more Middle Persian form; compare Arabic بَرْنامَج‎ (barnāmaj) with modern Persian برنامه‎ (barnâme).
