Etymology

Assuming it is Arabic, singulative noun from عَرَب‎ (ʕarab), عَرْب‎ (ʕarb), the verbal nouns of عَرَبَ‎ (ʕaraba, “to flow sharply”) from the root ع ر ب‎ (ʕ r b). The ultimate origin is subject to discussion, see Turkish araba for the possible Turkic origin.[1]
