مركب

Originally a noun of place meaning “place of riding”, from the verb رَكِبَ‎ (rakiba, “to ride”), from the root ر ك ب‎ (r-k-b). Cognate with Hebrew מֶרְכָּבָה‎ (merkaḇa, “chariot”), Ge'ez መርከብ (märkäb), Classical Syriac ܡܰܪܟܰܒܬܳܐ‎.
