Cognate with Gujarati કૂતરો (kūtro), Hindi कुत्ता (kuttā), Punjabi ਕੁੱਤਾ (kuttā) / کُتّا (kuttā), Bengali কুত্তা (kutta), Sylheti ꠇꠥꠔ꠆ꠔꠣ (kutta).
