Inherited from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀢𑀺𑀭𑀺𑀓𑁆𑀔 (tirikkha) (with various Middle Indo-Aryan extensions[1]), from Sanskrit तिरस् (tirás). Related to Gujarati તિરકસ (tirkas), Sindhi تِرڪو / तिर्को.
