Etymology
Inherited from Old Marathi दाढी (dāḍhī), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀤𑀸𑀠𑀺𑀆 (dāḍhiā), from Sanskrit दंष्ट्र (daṃṣṭra, “fang, tusk; beard”), from the root दंश् (daṃś). Cognate to Hindi दाढ़ी (dāṛhī).
