Borrowed from Persian درست (dorost), from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (drw(y)st' /druyist/), ultimately from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dʰruwás. Doublet of ध्रुव (dhruv). Compare Punjabi ਦਰੁਸਤ (darusat) / دَرُست (darust), Gujarati દુરસ્ત (durast), Bengali দুরস্ত (durosto).
