Inherited from Old Gujarati आंधलउं (āndhalaũ), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀅𑀁𑀥𑀮 (aṃdhala) (with Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀮- (-la-)) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit अन्ध (andhá). Cognate with Marathi आंधळे (āndhḷe), Konkani आंधळो (āndhḷo), Hindustani अंधा (andhā) / اَنْدَھا (andhā).
