Etymology
From the root meaning 'to walk', related to Hebrew שִׁשֵּׁא, Arabic دَأْدَأَ (daʔdaʔa), Hebrew הִדַּדָּה. Compare Arabic مَاشِيَةٌ (māšiyatun, “cattle”), from the root م ش ي (m š y, “to walk”). See አንሶሰወ (ʾänsosäwä, “to walk”).
