なのに

Compound of particle な (na, attributive form (連体形) of auxiliary verb だ (da) or copula particle used after the adjective verbs (形容動詞)) and のに (noni, particle of contrastive conjunction).

なのに • (na no ni)

     To dance with hugging each other in the married couple, seems fun and happy, but they have to dance with others by all means; if I tried to say an extreme theory about it. How about this? Wouldn't it be a logic that it's boring if you don't play a paramour?

     『かみもとっくにまっ白(しろ)だ。なのにがんこにさか立(だ)ちざんまい――そんなお歳(とし)でだいじょうぶ？』

     “Kami mo tokku ni masshiro da. Na noni ganko ni sakadachi-zanmai――sonna o-toshi de daijōbu?”

     "And your hair has become very white; And yet you incessantly stand on your head— Do you think, at your age, it is right?"
