1. -th; used to form the ordinal numeral

   Example:

   • ‎പത്ത് (pattŭ, “ten”) + ‎-ആം (-āṃ) → ‎പത്താം (pattāṃ, “tenth”)

2. used to form certain forms of verb. Denotes: capability (can); permission (can); assurance to perform in future (I will); cohortative form of verb (let's)

   Example:

   • ‎നടക്ക് (naṭakkŭ, “walk”) + ‎-ആം (-āṃ) → ‎നടക്കാം (naṭakkāṃ, “can walk”)
