From Old French Cornouaille, from Medieval Latin Cornugallensis, of Celtic/Brythonic origin, corresponding to Proto-Brythonic *Kernɨw + the Germanic suffix -wealas (“non-Germanic foreigner”) (see wealh).[1] More at Cornouaille.
