Proto-Finnic
Etymology
Probably from the same root as *tumma + *-eda. Possibly ultimately borrowed from Proto-Norse [Term?] (compare Faroese stummur (“pitch-black”)), or alternatively from Proto-Baltic [Term?] (compare Latvian tumšs).
