(pathology, countable) An anaemia, due to deficiency of iron, characterized by a yellow-green colouration of the skin; greensickness.
- 1915, “Hemoglobin in Anemia”, in American Medicine, volume 21, page 22:
  The effects of hemoglobin in anemia and chlorosis, and even in tuberculosis, are due to its triple action; it acts opotherapeutically, through the blood oxydases, which it contains when properly prepared.
(botany, phytopathology, uncountable) A yellowing of plant tissue due to loss or absence of chlorophyll.
