fiscal year (plural fiscal years)

(accounting) An accounting period of one year, not necessarily coinciding with the calendar year.

Some businesses use a fiscal year of 52 weeks in most years, 53 weeks about every fourth year. The year is typically divided into four quarters, numbered Q1 through Q4.
