Loanword via Serbo-Croatian lèvēnta(sh). Compare Ottoman Turkish لوند (lävänd, levend, levent, “volunteer sailor”) and Turkish levent,[1] as well as Greek λεβέντης (levéntis) and Bulgarian левент (levent)(bg).
