    Etymology
    
m (“in”) + ꜣwt (“length”) + ḏt (“(static) eternity, forever”). The final ḏt was originally adverbial, but later reinterpreted as a noun in a direct genitive construction, hence the later variation m ꜣw n(j) ḏt.
