sulit
Bikol Central

    Etymology

From Proto-Philippine *sulit (“substitute, replacement”), from Proto-Malayo-Polynesian *sulit (“difficult, complicated”). The close semantic agreement of the Casiguran Dumagat and Hanunóo terms suggests that one focal reference of this term was to replanting a crop that had failed, or had not been fully successful in some way.
