   C'est cher, mais je l'ai acheté tout de même.

   It's expensive, but I bought it anyway.

2. Emphase a sentence, an answer

   2007, Cynthia Reese, Le bébé du bout du monde, chap. 8:

   O.K., je lui ai donné vingt dollars, elle m'a dit qu'elle n'avait plus rien dans son frigo. Ce n'est pas la fin du monde, tout de même.

   OK, I gave her twenty dollars; she told me she had nothing left in her fridge. It's not the end of the world, anyway.

3. finally; about time

   J'ai fait ce que tu m'as demandé./Nous sommes presque arrivés. — Ah, tout de même !

   I've done what you asked me./We've arrived. ― Ah, finally!
