Usage notes

A địa chủ is only a feudal landlord, one who would own agricultural land, or plantations, and have other people work for him on that land. A modern "landlord" or "landlady" is simply chủ phòng/nhà trọ (literally “owner of the flats/apartments/houses for rent/lease”), one who owns real estate and rents it out to other people.
