Reborrowing from Italian zampogna (bagpipes), from Latin symphonia (music, symphony), from Ancient Greek συμφωνία (sumphōnía, music, symphony), from σύν (sún, together) + φωνή (phōnḗ, sound).[1] Doublet of συμφωνία (symfonía).
