Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (aŋla-, to understand)[2]; Kyrgyz аңдоо (añdoo, to understand), Karachay-Balkar ангыларгъа (to understand), Uzbek anglamoq (to understand), Uyghur ئاڭلىماق (anglimaq, to listen; to understand), Turkish anlamak (to understand), Azerbaijani anlamaq (to understand).
