Derived from the same source as 16th century Eastern Church Slavonic едїнощи (edinošti, “once”), given as ѥдинѫшть (jedinǫštĭ) in the Bulgarian Etymological Dictionary and derived from ѥдинѫ (jedinǫ) (feminine accusative singular of ѥдинъ (jedinŭ, “one”)) + a form of Proto-Slavic *šьdъ, past active participle of Proto-Slavic *jьti (“to go”).
