1. (demonstrative) that, those, yon (far from the listener)

   Տու՛ր ինձ այն գիրքը։ ― Túr inj ayn girkʿə. ― Give me that book (which is far from you).

   Այն գրքերն ինձ դուր չեն գալիս։ ― Ayn grkʿern inj dur čʿen galis. ― I don't like those book. (literally, “Those books don't come pleasant to me.”)

From the demonstrative particle *այ- (*ay-) +‎ *նո- (*no-). The demonstrative particle is also found in Indo-Iranian: Old Persian [script needed] (aita), Sanskrit एष (eṣá), एत (etá).

1. (demonstrative) that

   այն է, այն ինքն է, այն իսկ է ― ayn ē, ayn inkʿn ē, ayn isk ē ― (conjunction) that is to say, to wit, namely, i.e, viz or videlicet

   այն ինչ ― ayn inčʿ ― whilst, as long as, so long as: recently, freshly, newly

   այնու զի ― aynu zi ― (conjunction) in as much as, because

   այն ոք ― ayn okʿ ― such, such one

   այնր աղագաւ ― aynr ałagaw ― (conjunction) for that reason, therefore

   յայնմ հետէ ― yaynm hetē ― since then, ever since, since that epoch

   յայնմ վայրի ― yaynm vayri ― there, in that same or very place; then

   ցայս ցայն ― cʿays cʿayn ― both as to this and to that, considering both sides of the case
