Etymology
Probably a Persian formation from امن (amn, “secure, safe”) + ـیت (-iyat). The adjective is from Arabic أَمْن (ʔamn, “security, safety”, noun). A possible Arabic *أَمْنِيّة (*ʔamniyya) is not used at least in the contemporary language.
