لا بأس‎ • (lā baʾsa)

1. (with بِ‎ (bi)) it is not a problem, it is all right, it can't hurt

   ‏لَا بَأْسَ بِبَعْضِ الضَحْكِ أَحْياناً.‎‎

   lā baʾsa bi-baʿḍi ḍ-ḍaḥki ʾaḥyānan.

   It can’t hurt to laugh sometimes.

2. (with بِ‎ + personal suffix) a rather large (number of), quite a few

   ‏عَدَدٌ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ مِنَ الناسِ يُعانُونَ مِن مَشاكِلَ نَفْسِيّة.‎‎

   ʿadadun lā baʾsa bihi mina n-nāsi yuʿānūna min mašākila nafsiyya.

   Quite a large number of people suffer from psychological problems.

لا بأس‎ • (lā baʾsa)

1. no problem

   ‏هَل يَجُوزُ لِي أَنْ أُدَخِّن؟ – لَا بَأْس.‎‎

   hal yajūzu lī ʾan ʾudaḵḵin? – lā baʾs.

   May I smoke? – No problem.

2. (perhaps regional) Used as a wish for health and well-being.

   ‏لَا بَأْسَ عَلَيْكُم!‎‎

   lā baʾsa ʿalaykum!
