Not present until the late 18th century and borrowed from a Caspian language, bearing formerly also the forms گوله پر (gôla par), کله پر (kola par), meaning “leafy ball”, referring to the umbels, see گوی (gôy, ball) and پر (par, wing; feather; leaf).
