From ܚܙܐ (ḥ(ə)zā, “to see”) + ܐܝܠ (ʾel, “god”, literally “god has seen”), compare Hebrew חֲזָאֵל (Ḥazaʾēl), Arabic حزئيل and Akkadian 𒄩𒍝𒀪𒀭 (Ḫa-za-’-ilu)
