Learned borrowing from Classical Syriac ܬܠܬܥܣܪܐ (təlāṯaʿesrē). Equivalent to ܬܠܵܬ (tlāt, three) + ܥܸܣܲܪ (ʿissar, ten); compare Arabic ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ (ṯalāṯa ʕašrata) and Hebrew שְׁלוֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה (sh'lósh 'esré).
