Etymology
Borrowed from Classical Persian بیچاره (bēčāra, “poor, helpless, pathetic”), from بی (bê, “without”) + چاره (čâra, “help”). Compare Gujarati બિચારું (bicārũ), Hindustani بِچَارَہ / बिचारा (bicārā), Punjabi ਵਿਚਾਰਾ (vicārā) / وِچارا (vicārā), Bengali বেচারা (becara), Assamese বেচেৰা (besera).
