Borrowed from Classical Persian هر, from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (KRA), [Book Pahlavi needed] (hl /har(w)/), 𐫍𐫡𐫇 (hrw /harw/), from Proto-Iranian *hárwah, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *sárwas (“whole, all, entire”), from Proto-Indo-European *solh₂-wó-s, from *solh₂- (“whole”) + *-wós. Cognate with Ancient Greek ὅλος (hólos, “complete, whole”). Doublet of সব (śbo).
