ประโยชน์

From Sanskrit प्रयोजन (prayojana, “aim; desire; motive; object; etc.”), probably via Angkorian Old Khmer ប្រយោជន (prayojana, “benefit, use; aim, purpose”). Compare Old Khmer ប្រយោជ (prayoja); Modern Khmer ប្រយោជន៍ (prɑyaoc).

ประโยชน์ • (bprà-yòot) (classifier อย่าง)

1. benefit, use; aim, purpose.
   • เพื่อประโยชน์แห่งความยุติธรรม

     pʉ̂ʉa bprà-yòot hɛ̀ɛng kwaam-yút-dtì-tam

     In the interest of justice; for the sake of justice; for the purpose of justice.

   • เพื่อประโยชน์ในการจัดเก็บภาษี จะตั้งสำนักงานสาขาขึ้นตามสมควรก็ได้

     pʉ̂ʉa bprà-yòot nai gaan jàt gèp paa-sǐi jà dtâng sǎm-nák-ngaan-sǎa-kǎa kʉ̂n dtaam sǒm-kuuan gɔ̂ɔ dâai

     For the purpose of collecting taxes, branch offices may be established as appropriate.

   • ยกประโยชน์แห่งความสงสัยให้จำเลย

     yók bprà-yòot hɛ̀ɛng kwaam-sǒng-sǎi hâi jam-ləəi

     To give the benefit of the doubt to the defendant.

     bplàao bprà-yòot

     To be of no use.

   • ในการดังกล่าวต้องคำนึงถึงประโยชน์สูงสุดของประชาชน

     nai gaan dang glàao dtɔ̂ng kam-nʉng tʉ̌ng bprà-yòot sǔung sùt kɔ̌ɔng bprà-chaa-chon

     In carrying out the said activity, regard must be had to the people's utmost benefit.
