Etymology

Probably from the stem vowel -a- + Proto-Indo-European *-k(o)- suffix. The -ք- (-kʿ-) in ներքին (nerkʿin), ներքոյ (nerkʿoy) is probably of the same origin. Compare -ոք (-okʿ), հերիք (herikʿ).
