Compare -आवट (-āvaṭ), both of which may possibly be inherited from Sanskrit -तव्य (-tavya) + -त्व (-tva).[1] Cognate with Punjabi -ਆਹਟ (-āhaṭ), Gujarati -આહટ (-āhaṭ).[2]
