-mü

  1. Forms nouns with nominalized-participle-like meanings from verbs, with the noun referring to the patient argument of transitive verbs or the sole argument of intransitive verbs: ‘the one X-ing’ (intransitive), ‘the one to X’, ‘the one being X-ed’ (transitive).

Usage notes

This suffix has a suppletive plural form -aamo, which must be used with intransitive verbs. Some transitive verbs can take both the suppletive plural and a regular plural -mü + -komo with no apparent difference in meaning.
