кранта

Bulgarian

Etymology

Probably from an earlier *kornata, borrowed from Vulgar Latin carnātus (meaty, scraggy), perhaps relevelled to rhyme with native краста (krasta, scabby), клюста (kljusta, unwieldy) (also used as epithets for old equines).

Noun

кра́нта (kránta) f
