Inherited from Old East Slavic ходѧ́чии (xodę́čii), from Proto-Slavic *xodę̀ťь, from *xodìti. By surface analysis, ходи́ти + -ѧ́щїй. Doublet of ходѧ́щїй. Cognate with Russian ходя́чий (xodjáčij).
