Borrowed from Iranian *haδazāt. Compare Avestan 𐬵𐬀𐬜𐬋𐬰𐬁𐬙𐬀 (haδōzāta, consanguineous, related), composed of 𐬵𐬀𐬜𐬋- (haδō-, together) + 𐬰𐬁𐬙𐬀 (zāta, born). For the constituents see հար- (har-) and ազատ (azat).
