From Ancient Greek ἀρχεῖον (arkheîon, “town hall”).
Usage notes
- The Academy of the Hebrew Language recommends the use of אַרְכִיּוֹן derived directly from Ancient Greek over אַרְכִיב which is derived through modern European languages and Latin.[1]
